We've been creating brands and designing websites since 1997, enabling our clients to achieve their goals, every dot per inch.
The present day is no exception, but the late ‘90s and early ‘00s were a really exciting time for web design and development. After working in numerous roles in New York, then London. We were head-hunted in 2001 to join a brand new global strategic and digital marketing agency as head of design... but, we turned down the offer. It was this opportunity though that gave us the belief, confidence and impetus to start our own agency.
Throwing caution to the wind, and on a concept inspired by the inside of a taco shell packaging design, coupled with a really cool coffee table book called 72dpi. In 2001, in a small pokey flat in South London, the business plan for design dpi was born.

Don't let the fancy website or first-person pronouns of "we" "our" "we're" fool you, as design dpi is for the most part run and curated single-handedly by David Ellicott, friendly, amenable and always happy to offer advice.
Having built his first commercial website in 1997, David worked predominantly in front-end design, for many years specialising in Adobe Flash and ActionScript. Over the years the designer turned more to a developer, purely out of necessity, and now totally proficient in many coding languages.
Possessing the skill set of both designer and developer is such a huge advantage when designing websites. When we have an idea, understanding the basic developer principles means we can pretty much build anything.
And we do, we've designed websites for almost everything, ranging from the small, wonderfully crafted single page brochure sites for local businesses to huge eCommerce and content managed solutions for large multinationals, working locally, nationally and internationally.
David has been designing websites since 1997.

He loves trail running, the Lake District and has a healthy obsession with the San Francisco 49ers.
He lives a safe distance from Doncaster with his fiancée Sarah, and daughter Mia.
A calming influence in the office since 2005.
She's a supermodel cat, loves bits of plastic and acts more like a kitten than the old girl she is.
She loves Dreamies kibbles, chasing laser pointers, and giving high fives when asked.
She chose us one sunny September afternoon after we'd literally just returned home from a trip to NYC.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend David to anyone thinking of having a website built, the amount of positive comments I receive from my website is huge. If you're thinking of using design dpi then do it, you won't be disappointed. Libby Johnstone - Undercover Artists
David at design dpi was instrumental in my new business start up a few years ago, from branding, logo design, to marketing materials and a website. I really don't know how I'd have done it without him. Caroline Hoplins - Flexible Exercise
