Project Brief
Multi-award winning escorted tour operator Distant Journeys first approached us to redesign and improve on an existing Wordpress website and blog, to better showcase their unrivaled escorted tours of Australia and New Zealand and ultimately, generate more leads.
Concept
The original brief we were given was to overhaul, redesign and improve on a pretty basic Wordpress website and blog. Taking on more of a developer role at the time, we were given UXPin wireframes to convert into several Wordpress themes.
With the success of the redesign a few years ago the working relationship with Distant Journeys has developed into full service creative design, development and bespoke solutions.
Branding
Brand Guidelines
Not one of ours! However, this simple and effective logo uses the free sans serif font Libel Suit for the typeface. We would LOVE the opportunity to rebrand this logo.

Web Design
The website design is continually evolving with some pretty intricate, bespoke custom Wordpress solutions, tailored specifically for Distant Journeys.
The homepage, destination landing pages and itinerary pages are regularly reviewed, revised, and improved on. As are many other custom fields and sections of the site. It truly is a tailored solution specific for Distant Journeys.
But not only have we offered our design and development expertise, with the amount of daily visitors the site soon required it's own dedicated server. One with guaranteed uptime. We're more than happy and quite comfortable taking the lead managing such bespoke server builds and complex site migrations. Advanced hardware coupled with regular site and server maintenance ensures everything is working efficiently and smoothly.
Mobile Responsive Design
Not only is the website perfectly designed for use on devices of all screen sizes, so too are the email templates we've designed for Distant Journeys. Take a look at the mock ups below.
Email Marketing
We've supplied dozens of designs for email marketing campaigns over the years. But of late, we've uploaded a set of html email templates we hand coded to MailChimp, for the client to manage, update and send in-house.
Final Thoughts
Email marketing, website design and development and complete dedicated server solutions. Not to mention on-going search engine optimisation (SEO) liaising with numerous advertising agencies, all this certainly keeps us on our toes.
