Following the launch of the Arena Stadia Seating website, we were soon approached to redesign the sister companies web design, that of the Barnsley furniture manufacturer Metalliform Holdings. Web design, particularly redesign is at the very core of what we do.
The brief called for a website not too dissimilar to the Arena Stadia Seating website. But unlike the Arena website which only had 10 pages, the website for Metalliform was to be considerably larger with approximately 75 pages of content showcasing the Metalliform product ranges for the education and office sectors.
Working closely with Metalliform's design and marketing team, a concept was designed which not only matched the style of the sister site, but one which would also compliment the companies product catalogue by matching the product categories colour schemes and typeface.
Again, like the Arena logo design, we had no input on the Metalliform logo design, but we can admire this branding. With only some very slight differences in the colour palette, like it's sister companies logo it champions British manufacturing and uses the same font families, the script font Aloho and the sans-serif monoline typeface Variable. Both logo designs compliment one another and work both online and offline really well.

Unlike the Arena Stadia Seating site, that was a pretty bespoke build, all hand coded, which is absolutely fine for a smaller website. Early on it was decided that the Metalliform site would be built on the popular Bootstrap framework.
Building the site using Bootstrap made a lot of sense, allowing the site to be scalable, with mobile-first and responsive front-end design at the forefront of the design. Like the other web design, many elements such as parallax images would be used, sticky header navigation and a floating contact panel. All perfectly coded and indented so their in-house designer could easily update the site source code as and when needed.
Again, much like the Arena web design, the parallax sections aren't yet supported on phones and tablets, yet the Metalliform website has been designed to look pretty sweet on all devices of any screen size.
Although two completely different and unique builds, you can certainly tell the two sites are related. Like the Arena website, the Metalliform web design was coded to be easily updated and maintained.
The web design for this Barnsley manufacturer not only does an excellent job of promoting the Metalliform family of products effectively but more importantly it does an excellent job generating leads for the company.
